Doggy Walk 2014
When Mechem committed to contributing to Mandela Day, they made sure that the good deeds stretched across Africa. At the head office in Lyttelton, Pretoria, a doggy walk took place where the employees volunteered to take time off their busy schedules and walk the dogs at the Mechem Dog Unit. The event was in aid of Mandela Day and all employees were invited to walk a 2km distance. The day was filled with fun and laughter as the rest of the employees interacted with the company’s most valued one’s-the dogs!
Across the continent, the Mechem camps also took part in the International Mandela Day. These include Angola and Somalia.
“Mandela Day is a global call to action that celebrates the idea that each individual has the power to transform the world and the ability to make an impact.
The Mandela Day campaign message is “Nelson Mandela has fought for social justice for 67 ears. We are asking you to start with 67 minutes.”
