The non-compliance referred to  in today’s Rapport is in reference to Denel’s late submission of Denel’s EEA Plan for 2017/18 financial year.In terms of demographics Denel is fully compliant with over 60% black employees and less than 40% white employees.

In terms of gender representation, Denel has 35% female employees and there management is working on improving this. The submission of the plan for the 2017/18 financial year was delayed as this was a challenging period in the company.Failure to submit on time was due to matters beyond management's control.

The department of Labour can confirm that until this happened, Denel has historically been in good standing as a fully compliant company with the Act, including with the submission of the Employment Equity plan.

To ensure that this does not happen again, Denel’s Board has already approved Employment Equity plans for the next two years and they will be submitted to the Department of Labour on the 20th of March 2019.
